I am profoundly honored and humbled by President Chen Shiyi's invitation to serve as Library Director of EIT, a pioneering institution in the making. The central position of library building on campus is symbolic of its importance, which is why I approach this role with such reverence.

Past experience has taught me that building a world-class university requires extraordinary effort. To achieve this vision, every contributor must embrace open-mindedness and inclusiveness, dedicating themselves to challenging work with enthusiasm—only then can we achieve remarkable results.

The library's success relies entirely on the satisfaction of its users, the students and faculty. This principle is our founding purpose and ultimate mission. To this end, we dedicate ourselves to serving as devoted lamp bearers, "burning oil to extend the daylight hours and laboring tirelessly throughout the year". May the lamp we hold - the lamp of knowledge and wisdom - light the way ahead, however distant, guiding every student and every faculty along the path to excellence. And may this single flame join many others. "A lamp that brightens every corner of the hall, a jewel that adorns the robe of every seeker", illuminating the grand journey of EIT toward a brilliant and world-class future.
